York Castle Museum – A Victorian Christmas at the Castle
York’s famous Victorian street in the Castle Museum brings to life Christmas as it would have happened 150 years ago. With events such as A Christmas Carol and a special Christmas trail, you can discover how the Victorians would have celebrated.

Stockeld Park – The Christmas Adventure
Known as the home of adventure, Stockeld Park’s Christmas Adventure is a magical experience in the day time, but as the sun sets, it transforms into something even more so as the whole park is lit by thousands of twinkling lights. For more excitement, Adventure Zones include an ice rink, a ski trail and the enchanted forest!

RHS Garden Harlow Carr – Glow Winter Illuminations
There are a few different things going on over the Christmas period at Harlow Carr, but the one that caught our eye was the Glow Winter Illuminations. A trail around the gardens and the lake, with captivating lighting effects that illuminate trees and shrubs. Pop into Betty’s on your way out for hot drinks and delicate cakes.

Rudding Park – Black Tie Ball
If it’s a classy Christmas experience that you’re after, then Rudding Park always delivers. Don your dancing shoes and your most glamourous attire for a Black Tie Ball in Harrogate. With Chris Hilton’s Little Big Band providing entertainment, a four-course meal and a wonderfully festive atmosphere, you’re sure to get in the Christmas mood. Thor’s Tipi Bar

They’re popping up all over the place, but they’ll be present in York, Leeds and Sheffield this year in Yorkshire.

Wensleydale Railway – Santa Specials
For something more family-friendly, Wensleydale railway has you covered. Running from Leeming Bar, the first three weekends of December will see Santa Special trains heading through the stunning landscape of Wensleydale and the Yorkshire dales. Children will receive a present from Santa, and adults will get a mince pie and a seasonal refreshment.

Grassington – Dickensian Festival
In the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, at the most magical time of the year, Grassington Village puts on a legendary Dickensian festival and Christmas market. Everyone dresses up in Victorian costume and transforms the village into Dickens’ dream. From a nativity procession to Santa’s grotto and everything in between, Grassington has gone all out. This year there are also mid-week events too!
